Attending a Gordon Research Seminar

For the students, by the students…

The Gordon Research Seminar Program (GRS) is a series of highly successful and unique opportunities for young researchers to share in the GRC experience. Each seminar is held in conjunction with a related GRC and begins the weekend immediately prior to the GRC. Graduate students, post docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education come together to discuss their current research and build informal networks with their peers that may lead to a lifetime of collaboration and scientific achievement. The 2-day Gordon Research Seminars are organized by young investigators with the support of leading scientists from the associated GRC. The majority, if not all, of the GRS participants are expected to participate in the following GRC.

The Kenan Institute for Engineering, Technology & Science at NC State University provides seed money to a limited number of new Gordon Research Seminars each year. Together with the Kenan Institute, GRC is very excited to invite young scientists to take part in this unique opportunity.

The following Gordon Research Seminars are currently scheduled:

How Will I Contribute?

  • Gordon Research Seminars provide a forum for graduate students, post docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to give talks, present posters, and discuss cutting edge research in a peer-to-peer environment.

How Will I Benefit?

  • Gordon Research Seminars foster a highly stimulating and non-intimidating scientific atmosphere where attendees build relationships and develop collaborative networks with young scientists and senior mentors.
  • Gordon Research Seminars prepare attendees for active participation in the associated Gordon Research Conference following the GRS.
