best to provide as much information about each site as possible. Please
let us know if any of the
site or travel information is incorrect.
ABOUT THE SITE
Bryant University's 420-acre campus is located in Smithfield, Rhode Island just 15 minutes from the city of Providence. Bryant's campus is anchored by the Hassenfeld Common with criss-crossing pathways connecting the main campus buildings. All campus facilities are within a five minute walk. Throughout the campus you will find small nooks designed for informal interaction.
ARRIVAL AND CHECK-IN
It is expected that attendees will arrive/check-in on Sunday between 2:00 pm & 6:00 p.m. Anyone arriving after the GRC office closes at 9:00 pm on Sunday must make alternative housing arrangements.
Note: Check-in on Sunday will be located in Hall 17, not the GRC office in the Bello Center.
THE MEETING ROOM AND POSTER AREA
Science Sessions are held in the air-conditioned Bello Grand Hall, located in the George E. Bello Center for Information and Technology.
Poster Sessions and Socials are held in the Bryant Center.
ON-SITE HOUSING / FACILITIES
GRC participants are housed in an air-conditioned residence hall which contains suite-style accommodations. Each suite includes four bedrooms with twin sized beds, a shared living area and one bathroom. The bathroom in each suite contains two showers, two toilets and two sinks. Linens, towels, soap and a drinking cup are provided in each room. There are vending machines, laundry facilities and pay-phones available.
DINING AREA / MEALS
All Meals will be served in the air-conditioned South Dining Room which is located in the Bryant Center. Vegetarian entrees are available at all meals and kosher meals are available only if the request is made in advance of the meeting.
INTERNET, PHONE AND COMPUTER ACCESS
Wireless internet service is available throughout campus and the sleeping rooms are equipped with Ethernet connections. Please bring your own Ethernet cable. There are computer stations set up around campus, as well as dedicated computer labs. The Douglas and Judith Krupp Library (located in the George E. Bello Center) has about 40 computer stations available for use.
HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBILITY
The site is fully handicapped accessible.
ON-SITE RECREATION
Conferees have access to the campus gym, indoor pool, fitness center, sand volleyball, basketball, squash and racquetball courts, a golf putting green, and a cross country course.
OTHER INFORMATION
Animals are not permitted on site.
All GRC facilities are smoke free.
