Bylaw IX:
Conference Chairs
SECTION 1. RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY
The conference Chairs shall have responsibility and authority, with the approval of the Director, to administer the technical functions of their respective conferences, and at the conclusion thereof report to the Director the plans for the future of their conferences, including the name of the Chair, Vice-Chair, preferred dates, and any other pertinent comments for the information of the Director.
SECTION 2. PROGRAM
Conference Chairs shall transmit complete programs with all discussion titles and contributors' names, to the Director before a date specified by the Director.
SECTION 3. GRANTS-IN-AID
Conference Chairs may request the Director to pay specified sums of money from an assistance fund to certain members of their respective conferences, as grants-in-aid, not to be regarded as honoraria, in direct reimbursement of expenses incurred for the purpose of permitting attendance of individuals who can make substantial contributions to the discussions but who would not otherwise attend.
SECTION 4. REPORTS
Retiring conference Chairs shall transmit written reports of their conference's business meetings, a list of grants-in-aid distributed, and other information helpful to the Director within two weeks of the adjournment of their respective conferences.
